In my opinion, I feel like those who hated the last of us part 2 don't understand the point of how everything turned out in the end. You got to take the time to understand why everything occurred the way it did.

Me personally, I used hate on this game, but when Christopher Nolan said the last of us part 2 won game of the year, I couldn't believe it. I thought to myself "what makes the last of us part 2 worthy of almost every award category". Momentarily for me, I understood everything about it, therefore, in my opinion, I accepted the last of us part 2 as game of the year.

The game came out in June last year I think, and there are people hatting it still. I don't think people will understand. At least this is what the director wanted people hating it passionately than people say the game is meh. So good job... You accomplish your goal.

Well, this year there was no competition to be honest, really. Ghost of Tsushima is a fun game, but far, really far from it. I think only God of War, RDR2 and Zelda could compete with TLOU2.

Lol I knew this would have a high dislike ratio. Because Youtubers who caught the sense of the community and depend on likes and subs trashed on the game, people entered it spoiled with rage or didn't even play it, and have wanted to hate it from the beginning. As someone who played it without spoilers, I thought it was great. It took risks, which people often say they want games to do and criticize them for not doing; and I feel that it pulled them off. Combat, exploration, and puzzles are also heavily improved from the first game. (spoilers below) In what other game do you get to play as the perceived villain and truly see their perspective like this? The theater part was unlike anything else I've experienced in gaming.

I expected massive thumbs down, i was not disappointed.

The gameplay and graphics are excellent but the storyline was all out of place and the way they killed Joel easily made it feel faked, it would have been better that Joel trust Abby and then Abby betrayed him and kill him and then played her storyline why she backed stabbed him and killed him, also many of us were expecting big historic fight to the end against the Fire Flys. The story could have been written more better.

Combat and stealth is a lot of fun, but it is far from the "Absolute best experience across all creative and technical fields". And tons of other games have already done these mechanics many times over. At least the game offers some of the best graphics i've ever seen on a Playstation 4 Pro in 4K, and it runs pretty smoothly. BEST GAME DIRECTION - AWARDED FOR OUTSTANDING CREATIVE VISION AND INNOVATION IN GAME DIRECTION AND DESIGN. The most creative thing the game offers is the new ability to crawl (nothing new in the game industry) instead of crouching, dogs tracking your farts and a story line told in a very risky way, that in my opinion simply fails to deliver an enjoyable experience. BEST NARRATIVE - FOR OUTSTANDING STORYTELLING AND NARRATIVE DEVELOPMENT IN A GAME. (Spoiler warning) As mentioned above. The narrative takes a chance in it's deliverance. And when taking chances, there's also the risk of failure, which it felt like for me. Interrupting story high-notes by making me take control of Abby, with lots of hours away from Ellie, surely didn't do any good. It's extremely anti-climatic. Just give me the damn good parts i've already worked my ass up to, instead of making me work hours more up to a point i already know is coming. I don't need hours of Abby-gameplay to convince me she has her reasons to be like she is. I already get that. Everybody's got their own story and background. Too bad i only cared about Ellies. Revenge stories has been told many times before. And if a big part of the story is about the revenge theme, why the hell end it by letting Abby go? Why forgive her? I get revenge is wrong, but isn't killing lots of innocents only to give up at the end worse? That makes it all for nothing. The narrative ends up with a message like "Only take revenge, if you plan on going all the way" or something like that. BEST AUDIO DESIGN - RECOGNIZING THE BEST IN-GAME AUDIO AND SOUND DESIGN. The monsters got some great disgusting, disturbing voices and i like all the sounds from the weapons. It feels great to upgrade, create items, looting or just reloading a gun. This was great. BEST PERFORMANCE AWARDED TO AN INDIVIDUAL FOR VOICE-OVER ACTING, MOTION AND/OR PERFORMANCE CAPTURE. The acting seems to be pretty good. Especially in the more emotionally strong scenes. Unfortunately, i feel that Abby sounds very cold or boring during much of her screen-time. But she delivers when she has to, in the intense scenes. Am i completely wrong or am i just preaching to the quire? I'd like to know.

I don't care if you didn't like the story, some of the characters or the direction, TLOU part 2 is objectively the best game of 2020 in every aspect that compose it: Graphic, music, sound design, attention to detail, gameplay and level design are all near masterpiece, the only thing that's divisive is the story... And I loved it, same goes for some of the new characters included Abby, I think most of you just need to grow the hell up.
